Keys, tray & activation tab

The Keys, tray & activation tab of the Configuration Dialog is where you select the options related to Hot keys, System Tray menu and Zone Activation used by Control Runner.

Configure 3

There are three groups of related options: Hot keys, Tray menu and Zone activation.

Hot Keys

The Hot Keys section is where you select which hot-keys functions do you want to use and what keyboard combinations do you want to use for them. The possible Hot Keys are:

Activate Control Runner

When pressed the Hot Key the main window of Control Runner will be shown and made active.

Pop-up Tray Menu

When pressed the Hot Key the tray menu will popup right at the current mouse cursor position.

Hide current window

When pressed the Hot Key the current window will be hidden (and added to the Hidden window list of the tray menu).

Set to top current window

When pressed the Hot Key the current window will be made a topmost window, i.e. it will be on top of all other windows, even when a focused window overlaps it. This is interesting if you want a window to be temporarily visible while working with other applications.

Tray Menu

The Tray Menu options control which of the available sub-menus of the System Tray menu will be available.

Desktop icons

When checked, the tray menu will include a submenu containing all the items on your desktop.

Control Panel

When checked, the tray menu will include a submenu containing all the items of the Control Panel.

Select Printer

When checked, the tray menu will include a submenu containing all currently installed printers on your system, so you can select the default printer.

Change Resolution

When checked, the tray menu will include a submenu containing all screen resolutions compatible with your hardware which have the same color depth (number of colors).

Zone Activation

The Zone Activation section controls Zone Activation; a convenient way to activate Control Runner by placing (and holding it for about 1 second) the mouse cursor on any of the available activation zones: any corner or side of your monitor.

To define an activation zone, check the 'Enable Zone Activation' checkbox and click on any of the small rectangles that represent the eight available zones. The selected active zone will be painted blue.

Check the 'Show Zone Activation button' option to include a button named Zone on the toolbar of the main window to temporarily disable Zone Activation.
